What means food safety for Austral ?
As indicated by the FAO, the proportion of undernourished people among the world population - the prevalence of undernourishment - may have reached 10.9% in 2017. The persistent instability in regions devastated by conflicts, the adverse weather events in many regions of the world and the economic slowdown that has affected more peaceful areas have worsened food security, are all factors that help explain a deterioration of the situation.
According to the definition of FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), food safety is understood as "when all people have at all times physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food that meet their daily energy needs and food preferences to lead a healthy and active life. "
