Alternative to polyols with HFC-141b now available in Chile - Korean technology
As a supplier of polyurethane systems for thermal insulation for more than 10 years, Austral Chemicals Chile began in 2017 to replace refrigerant gases (HFC-141b) with sustainable alternatives that do not affect the ozone layer or climate change.
In this framework of the substitution of polyols with HFC-141b and the development of new polyols with HFO (Hydrofluorolefins), all under the support of the SOMBRILLA project of the Chilean Ministry of the Environment, Austral Chemicals Chile sent two members of its sales and technical team to South Korea. With great success they managed to develop five new alternatives for rigid polyols in spray application and injection, products that will be available in the Chilean market in a short term.
